Christmas 1st Wishlist Received!

Last November I list down all I want for Christmas, surprisingly I never thought that I can receive the first in my list that I had written down. When we went to Trinoma last November 30, Erwin surprised me with the watch I wanted. He was so generous that time and he even buy me an additional strap. He loves to buy for me the green lizard strap but I change it to blue, my favorite color.

I won KAYA 7 challenge!

Winning this challenge was the biggest accomplishment since I started digital scrap booking. I personally want to thank the people who voted for me and believing my skills and creativeness to be able to produce my winning layout. I can proudly say that I have a "K" in this hobby. This is the feeling pa... "para kang nanalo ng award", friends keeps on CONGRATULATING me, honestly I ever won any contest nor challenge in my entire life this is the FIRST time, and I will surely treasure and remember that KAYA became a part of my precious hobby, scrapbooking.

To all my friends who keep on criticizing my layout, thank you so much, without your comments I would be able to improve on my skills. I owe you one. To achie Nita who keeps on nagging me to do more layouts often than hoarding scrapbook stuffs, thank you for knocking on me.

Friday, November 30, 2007: KAYA 7 WINNERS by Nita Ang

First of all, I'd like to salute all the ladies who bravely met this month's Kaya 7 challenge. You are all so talented and I am even more impressed with the creativity of this group. Ang gagaling nyo lahat!

Now, for the winners of this month's challenge. I am proud to announce that the winner for our digital layout is JOYLEEN LIM garnering 35 votes out of 71. As for the traditional layout, the winner is none other than MARIX MARTE garnering 62 votes out of 181. Talk about that spark of inspiration. This one surely started a wild-fire! Truly well-deserved, indeed :D

PRIZE:
CONGRATULATION, ladies. Now, the winners for this month's challenge are each receiving an identical package fresh from my scrap stash (pps, cs, chipboards & rub-ons). Au Lim has also generously added the complementing Queen & Co acrylic flowers and fibers to match the pps.

Besides these prizes, the two lucky winners are also getting a scrapbooking magazine of their choice from two wonderful ladies. My Scrap Room & Stash

My scrap room was the birthday gift of my dear hubby. At first the main purpose was to do cabinets for my collection, the Sylvanian until it turns out to be my working area and as well as my scrap room too. MY TOYS...... expensive yet so ADDICTING and FUN. Obvious to be a HOARDER but I enjoy taking pictures of my stash. It help me realize that I need to scrap more than to buy more. I promise to myself that I will start creating my own layouts so that I can continue to buy new stuffs again. Thanks Marj for the Rak.

Reminising Childhood

Joy says KAYA!

I'm having a hard time to pick my sweet inspiration for this month challenge. I keep on searching the internet to find an inspiration to scraplift then at the same time I was also finding new Nintendo DS game at amazon.com when I saw the front cover of this game. I said to myself, I know this is hard to scraplift but I will try my best to do it. I was 100% inspired to do this because I enjoy playing TETRIS and I'm a GAMER.

Journaling: Erwin was so happy to see Spongebob and Patrick. He jumped up at the stage and asks me to take him a picture. I don’t know why he likes mascots; maybe he missed being a kid again!

Materials Used: 4 Fonts: Impact, Galant, CG Omega, Quiant, Spongebob and Patrick Image

Technique Used: Used eyedropper to copy the respective colors. Do 5-6 colors of papers. Grid my working area so that I can layout the bricks. Bevel the bricks. Brush the violet background with light lilac to have a dotted effect. Double Matt the photo.

A Million Thanks To You, Ms. Joanne

One of the scrapping mom, Ms. Joanne Yap, will be leaving for OZ for good. "This has been long overdue" as she says.

It made me sad when she told me this "overdue" decision. She was the one who introduced me to scrapbooking. She made me see how numerous scrapbookers are here in our country. Patient, and persistent, that's how she was to me. She made me join eyeballs and challenges. She is, if not, one of the few who started the trend of scrapbooking here in the Philippines.
Joann, surely we will miss you. Rest assured, we will continue what you have started and have other people see the scrapbooker in them too.

With this, a co-scrapbooker, Ms. April organized a despedida party for her held last October 20. We were each assigned to produce an 8x8 layout to be included in the album that will be given to her. A remembrance, a token of love.... a reminder of how she made scrapbooking, easy, fun, and worthwhile.

Below is my layout for her. Joanne, my friend, my mentor. You will be missed.

Batangas

Joining an international challenge is so fun. You can feature your creative layout to the other users of the forum. Here's the outcome of my very first international challenge.

Journaling:
On our way to Catalagan, Batangas I got amazed with the beautiful trees on the road. I immediately told Erwin to stop the car, grabbed my camera and step down the car as fast as I could because there are a lot of people waiting for us inside the car.
The trees are arranged uniformly and the color of the stems and branches are so unique. I don't know if they are man made or natural.
I wish I can go back to this place again and explore the beauty of the scenery and the fresh air that we inhale keeps me stress free.

Kaya 5 Entry

Layering was one of my favorite while doing my digital layouts. When I saw this challenge, I got excited to do it as soon as I can. I finish this LO in a flash less than an hour to be exact. Layering 10 digital papers is very much easily as compare to traditional one. No mess and the sheet of papers were cut uniformly.

Journaling:
Finally... I was able to convinced Erwin to have a weekend break, we grabbed the long weekend to drove all the way ro Catalagan, Batangas to relax ourselves. The climate was colder as compare to the hot and sunny weather of Manila. We can breathe normally with the fresh air that we can feel. The place was so cozy, relaxing enough to relief stress and tensions. We both agreed to left our own GADGETS to have quality time for each other. Thank you Erwin for leaving his TOYS for me.
At Batangas, we were able to relax and feel the comfort of one another. My heart was filled with joy and laughters to the stories and moments we shared that will last a lifetime.
